What kind of house are you looking for, and what does it cost in Silicon Valley? We read the listing descriptions of every house, condo and townhouse sold in 31 Silicon Valley cities in the two years to October 27, 2026 (21,761 houses alone) and wrote up each home type and feature with its own numbers, city by city. This page puts all of them in one place.

Start here

Condos and townhomes

The same questions for attached homes.

City by city

Every city with at least 140 house sales has its own page: each style and feature, with its median price and premium against the typical house in that city.

San Jose, San Mateo, Sunnyvale, Redwood City, Santa Clara, Palo Alto, Los Gatos, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Daly City, Los Altos, Menlo Park, Mountain View, San Carlos, Saratoga, South San Francisco, Cupertino, Campbell, San Bruno, Milpitas, Burlingame, Belmont, Hillsborough, Millbrae, Los Altos Hills, Foster City, East Palo Alto, Portola Valley, Atherton, Woodside.

How we counted

Closed sales reported to the MLS and read through the IDX feeds that power our home search, October 28, 2024 to October 27, 2026, with repeat records removed. A home counts as having a feature or style when its listing description says so. “Per sq ft vs. the city” compares price per square foot with the median for all houses in the same city. Each post has its full method. Past sales aren’t a forecast or the value of any one home.
