KB Home

KB Home began in 1957 as Kaufman and Broad, founded by Eli Broad and Donald Kaufman, and is now based in Los Angeles. Here it builds mostly townhome-style condominiums and stacked flats near BART and light rail, and it has worked on San Jose’s Communications Hill since 2000. Here’s what the records confirm and what the homes resell for.

KB Home lists Bridgepoint (1705 Perlo Way) and Rosebriar (1663 Mercado Way) in North San Jose as coming soon. A 1988 environmental review covered a Kaufman & Broad plan for up to 119 detached homes at Cornish Lane and Berryessa Road in San Jose; we couldn’t confirm what was built there. Listings credit Kaufman & Broad with some 1960s–70s San Jose homes, which we couldn’t trace to a tract.
