Reading it right
- Big parks have many entrances. The map point is one spot, often not an entrance, so check the trailhead you’d actually use.
- Hillside parks mean fire zones. Look the address up on our Flood & Fire Zones page and get an insurance quote early.
- Condos and townhomes aren’t in these figures; the live map shows them.
How we counted
Closed sales of houses (MLS property type “single family home”) between October 28, 2024 and October 27, 2026 in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, reported to the MLS and read through the IDX feeds that power our home search, with repeat records from different feeds removed (normalized address plus sale date), measured straight-line from each sale’s map position to each park’s map point. Condos and townhomes aren’t in these figures because the sold feed doesn’t give their map positions. Past sales aren’t a forecast or the value of any one home.
