About San Antonio Court

An Eichler publication’s account of Eichler’s final projects describes San Antonio Court, nine homes on Parsons Way and Almond Avenue in Los Altos, as under way when he died in 1974, with Claude Oakland involved in the design.

It’s a small cluster rather than a full tract, and one of the last places Eichler’s company built anywhere. Eichler sales here are rare: the MLS shows only a handful on these two streets.

the nerd check

Buying or selling a San Antonio Court Eichler

  • Radiant heatMost Eichlers were built with hot-water radiant heat in the slab. Ask whether the original system still runs, has been repaired or was replaced, and get a radiant-heat specialist to look before you remove contingencies.
  • The roofThe low-slope roofs and their insulation are a common upgrade. Ask for the roof’s age, material and any permits.
  • Glass and wallsOriginal single-pane glass and thin wall panels are typical. Many owners have upgraded; ask what was done and whether it was permitted.
  • Los Altos rulesCheck the parcel’s zoning and design review requirements with Los Altos Planning before you plan changes.
