Blog > Silicon Valley Housing Market by City: Data Briefs for 25 Cities
We wrote a data brief for every Silicon Valley city with at least 100 home sales in the last 12 months: 25 cities from Gilroy to South San Francisco. Each one pulls that city’s numbers from all of our Property Nerds® datasets into one read: prices now and since 2012, the 2022 dip, the price ladder from entry price to top end, bidding wars and discounts, the best month to close, the share of sales under $1 million and the latest quarter. Pick a city below.
For scale: across Silicon Valley the median sale price was $1.65M over the last 12 months (October 2025 – September 2026, 15,237 sales), at $992 per square foot, and 60% of sales from January 2024 through September 2026 closed over asking.

The smaller towns
Atherton, East Palo Alto, Los Altos Hills, Monte Sereno, Portola Valley and Woodside had fewer than 100 sales in the last 12 months, so they don’t get a brief of their own; their numbers swing more from year to year. Each one still has a datasheet on the City Scorecard.
Comparing cities?
- City Scorecard: every city’s numbers on one spec sheet, with a sortable table.
- Market Map: every city as a tile, colored by the measure you pick.
- Price Ladder: entry, median and top-end prices in every city.
- Q3 2026 report: the latest quarter against a year earlier.
How we counted
Closed sales reported to the MLS, read through the IDX feeds that power our home search, with repeat records removed. Houses, condos and townhomes are counted together. The figures describe homes that sold, not a forecast and not a ranking of places to live. Every dataset is in the Property Nerds® Data Library.
Weighing a move between cities?
A Property Nerd will put the cities on your list side by side, down to the neighborhoods and homes that fit. Call (408) 373-1660 or (650) 383-8606, or book a strategy call. Commissions are negotiable, and we offer bundled services, so ask us what’s included.
