Boyenga Team Food Truck Fundraiser Supports My Digital TAT2

Through fundraising for local nonprofits and volunteering in-person time, Compass Cares inspires its teams to give back to the communities they serve. At Boyenga Team, we’re all about forward vision. That’s why we chose to fundraise this year for My Digital TAT2, a nonprofit organization based in Silicon Valley. MDT2 focuses on the two things that matter most when it comes to looking to the future: the kids in our community, and technology. 

How do we facilitate healthy behavior in children and their tech? It’s not always an easy question to answer. My Digital TAT2 works to provide hands-on education and outreach about topics such as social media identities, internet privacy, and cyberbullying. Through workshops, the organization sparks conversations in both classrooms and communities about using technology in healthy, positive ways. Their name, Digital “Tattoo,” reflects the permanence of everyone’s online profiles and the importance of avoiding “mistakes” that can stick around forever. Their mission, however, isn’t to deter students from using technology and social media. Instead, it encourages a positive, constructive attitude towards being a smart and kind digital citizen. 

MDT2 achieves its mission through workshop-based programming and outreach projects. Focusing on early impact and prevention, these programs work with students as young as third grade. Part of the organization’s mission is to educate all stakeholders involved — it offers educational programs not just to local schools, but also to parents and even corporate teams on how to team children digitally awareness. Through its Teen Advisory Board and from its close relationship with schools and other communities all over the region, MDT2 ensures that its work effectively promotes healthy and safe online decisions. 

To support MDT2’s work, Boyenga Team is hosting a food truck festival to fundraise! Come out to Artisan Wine Depot in Los Gatos on Tuesday, Aug 13 from 11am to 2pm for a summertime lunch you’ll feel good about. We’ll have all kinds of iconic Bay Area food trucks: burgers from Grillzillas, gyros from Falafel Fresh, and waffles from Waffle Roost.
