CA Mountain View Cuesta Park

Named for the lush, rolling lawns of an expansive park in the midst of the neighborhood, Cuesta Park is a peaceful, family-oriented community with a uniquely clear view of the mountains. Many consider this neighborhood the heart of Mountain View, especially given its ideal location for employees at major companies like Symantec, Google, and El Camino Hospital. Housing in Cuesta is highly stable given the desirability of its central location, access to stellar education, and serene neighborhood atmosphere — listings in Cuesta don’t happen often, and when they do, they go fast!

The neighborhood itself is situated on the western side of Mountain View closer to Los Altos. It’s bordered the city downtown along Castro St, which offers a busy library, coffee shops, diverse dining options, and other local shops. It’s a lively but hectic zone — and yet, Cuesta retains its serenity by being separated from the hustle and bustle on the other side of East El Camino Real. That division gives it a removed sense of peace and safety. On the other sides, the neighborhood is framed by Grant Rd and Cuesta Drive. Within the neighborhood, traffic is controlled by narrow streets and new stop signs. The entire area is highly pedestrian and cyclist friendly.

Homes in Cuesta are mostly small, single-family homes in classic styles, though a few modern condominiums are also scattered throughout the neighborhood. Further south within Cuesta, homes are larger and newer, especially the closer you get towards Boranda Ave. However, new developments around the edges of the neighborhood speak to the neighborhood’s rising affluence and desirability as a whole.

Cuesta Park itself, right within the neighborhood, is a gem in the city. It offers 25 acres of bright lawns that are consistently filled with families and students. The community organizes fun, welcoming activities including an annual barbecue and Easter egg hunt. The park includes an all-age-friendly playground, picnicking spots, a popular dog park, and ample parking.

Residents can fulfill their commercial needs at a variety of locations near the neighborhood even beyond downtown. Grant Park Plaza and Blossom Valley Shopping Center are both a quick jaunt away, offering everything from pharmacies to pizzas. Additionally, just down El Camino is the YMCA gym.
